My name is Kathy and I am a stay at home mom of two beautiful daughters, ages 14 and 3. Ten years ago, my husband brought home an old used computer and my world was forever changed. I became obsessed with teaching myself how to use it.
Once I finally got online, I discovered eBay, and decided to start auctioning. Not one to have a generic looking auction, I studied the html tutorials there, and became facinated with html.
One day, a computer store owner, impressed by my self-taught computer knowledge, asked me if I was interested in designing websites. He gave me a copy of Frontpage 98 and sent me home to learn it. I was clueless at the time, and the guy essentially laughed at my ammature designs. Though initially hurt at the time, in retrospect, I am glad he did. His ridicule provoked me to keep learning, to push myself harder.
Today, I am still learning. I am currently teaching myself Dreamweaver, and working with Java script. While I continue to study, I have done some design work for fellow eBayers, and I am presently the webmistress for the OLASA Organization. In addition, I also enjoy helping people learn what I have learned, by creating online tutorials. These tutorials can be viewed at OLASA.ORG or at my site.
